Bad body image day? We ALL have em!
Before you panic, jump on the scale, judge or shame yourself, plan your next diet, vow to 'try harder this time,' promise you'll exercise more, or dive headfirst into a pint of ice cream...
Try this: Take a deep breath, ask yourself what else is going on - where might this *really* be coming from? What might have triggered this?
For example, happiness is a package deal. If you’re unhappy, stressed, or feel out of control with an area of your life, it can be second nature for your brain to project it on your body.
By shining the light on this deeper cause, we’re able to separate it from our body and address the real issue.
Offer yourself compassion, do something kind for yourself based on your true values and addressing the true root.
This type of work on body is hard, but the more we practice approaching bumps in the road with compassion, curiosity, vulnerability, and openness, the more healing can take place.
Awareness helps to diffuse the situation 🤗❤️
