My design process is pretty all over the place. Some pieces take me 6-8 months to finish, some take me an afternoon. And there’s no pattern to it - when I’m sitting in front of my sketchbook, sometimes magic happens, and sometimes it takes 6 different sketches to settle on a design. 🤷♀️ Creativity is theoretically supposed to be like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. But I also agree with the Tom Waits approach of ‘holy shit it’s happening I need to write this down before it disappears.’ This is the second lettered version of this phrase, and it was looking kind of lonely in the frame, so I started playing with it and holy shit, I love it. I’ll have bigger prints of it soon, but for now you can come find me at Eastern Market this weekend to grab it in this cute lil’ mini frame! ❤️ .
(Today I’m up against the wall, here till 4 or so; and tomorrow I’ll keep you posted on where I’m at!)
Does your creative process have a predictable pattern? Or is it total chaos like mine?
