🐕 TOP DOG 🐕 .
I wish I had my own doggie but for now I have a huge blue spray painted pug which is dead opposite where I live! .
As we were stepping out for dinner I had to have a snap of my outfit with the pug! I have always loved clothes but through my wellness journey I’ve had shrinking dresses and an ever expanding wardrobe. I was always (and still am) the handbag queen (after all this is an item where one size really does fit all...unlike one size fits all tights...that’s just a lie 🤣)
When I was 27 stone I still had very beautiful clothes. I look at the range of plus size clothing now with envy as so many more brands are available which offer on trend fashion to fit, flatter and emphasis curves. People presume that I was jumping for joy at the thought of buying clothes for my new frame. Yes, it was great being able to fit into a wider variety of items but my new body was alien to me. I didn’t know how to dress it.
I’m incredibly lucky to have mama wheels and a circle of friends who will force me into a changing room and tell me to try things on when I swear the item won’t fit me/won’t suit me. Tip number 1..surround yourself with people who help you look and feel your best
Tip number 2 is to wear clothes that fit your body to give you shape. I used to live in leggings and long tops when I had a wardrobe full of very pretty clothes that I didn’t have the confidence to wear. It’s taken time and some re-education for me to embrace my new shape and how to dress it. We all have bits of our bodies that we are not so keen on so find an outfit that highlights the best bits. I felt like top dog in this @Libby_loves_ dress because it pulls me in at the waist, it’s a fun electric blue leopard print and it’s silky and just skims my rather peachy derrière. I love Libby as ALL of her designs are young, fun and suit me. Plus I love supporting a British designer! .
Tip 3 is be confident in who you are as that never goes out of style. Find some style Queens to inspire you. My absolute favourite who always looks gorgeous is @whatlauraloves (please follow her to see what I mean) .
This bank holiday be top dog, dress to impress and accessorise with a smile 💕
